Courbevoie, 13 September 2012
MicroStrategy® Incorporated (Nasdaq: MSTR), an international Business Intelligence (BI) software vendor, and Visual Crossing, a mapping solutions vendor, announced that Adecco Group, a world leader in human resources services, has chosen their dynamic interfaces for map viewing and has entrusted Business & Decision, an international Consulting and Systems Integration Company, with the integration. These interfaces will facilitate reading the results of BI analyses performed on marketing and sales data and help improve decision-making. Thanks to the newly deployed features, Adecco France Group will also be able to offer new services to customers such as job catchment area studies.
Adecco Group implemented the MicroStrategy BI platform in the early 2000s to measure activity performance and to identify improvement areas in regards to services delivered to its customers. Marketing and sales teams, as well as executives of the various Adecco Group entities, were given the opportunity to analyze all types of data and view BI dashboards through a decision support portal. Business & Decision team's expertise in MicroStrategy technology has been critical in integrating and deploying the Adecco Group's BI platform.
"Building upon this BI expertise, and with the concurrent development of geolocation technologies and uses, the need to position BI indicators on maps and to simultaneously view analysis results via geographic representation arose within our teams during 2010," says Stéphane Burie, BI Manager of Adecco Group in France.
So, Adecco France Group looked for an automated and secure solution that would also bring added value to both its teams and customers. The solution had to combine data generated by MicroStrategy with external data sources (like INSEE) as well as internal ones (Adecco Group indicators and business data). It also had to be based on maps belonging to Adecco France Group (with geographical subdivisions that reflect the company's organization) and maps that reflect France's administrative subdivisions (districts, départements, etc.).
In late 2011, after requesting proposals from the market's main suppliers, Adecco France Group opted for an integration of the MicroStrategy and Visual Crossing technologies. This decision was motivated by several factors:
"By combining our solution with MicroStrategy's tools, Adecco France Group has evolved from simple data publication on a map to a true visual and geolocation-based solution that not only helps save users a lot of time when it comes to analysis tasks, but that also delivers high value-added services to customers," adds Bjoern Schaefer, Visual Crossing General Manager, EMEA, Visual Crossing.
The solution was implemented at the beginning of June 2012. To date, some fifty people use the Visual Crossing features in MicroStrategy to analyze geographic areas and to give better advice to the Group's customers. Teams have performance indicators on temporary labor and recruitment markets, on customers and prospects by geographic or economic sector and on indicators about market share, etc. From an Information System perspective, Adecco France Group now has a robust, fully integrated and efficient infrastructure.
"The Adecco project shows what rich functionalities can be obtained by integrating our two solutions. This type of mapping is increasingly sought-after by business users. One of the success factors of the deployment of Business Intelligence within Adecco was the very high integration on which MicroStrategy and Visual Crossing both worked," explains Jean-Pascal Ancelin, CEO of MicroStrategy in France.
Amandine Ponset, Director of Business & Decision's agency in Lyon, adds: "This project was very rewarding not only for Adecco France Group, but also for our teams. Since 2011, our market surveillance results have been showing an increasing need to integrate geolocation into information systems, mainly for marketing and business development purposes. Since 2008, Business & Decision has built a relationship of trust with MicroStrategy and Adecco that has led to the creation of a dedicated service center in Lyon for its Business Intelligence Information System. This project is yet another step in our constant search for innovation to best meet the needs of Adecco France Group and other BI customers."
Drawing on the extremely positive feedback from users, Adecco France Group is studying the possible extension of the solution to include other internal data such as management audit. It is also considering delivering new services such as supplying strategic data to companies wishing to set up operations in a specific area or region to support their unique development initiatives. High value-added services will help the human resources leader position itself as a true partner for its customers, capable of supporting all of their activities.
"This project has increased data analysis strength and given Adecco France Group a particularly important competitive advantage when it comes to offering new services to customers across the whole territory and in all the Group's companies. For instance, we will be able to give them, in a very simple and intuitive manner, precise indications on the employment base and skills available to them during their recruitment efforts in order to help them avoid any shortage of labor," concludes Stéphane Burie.
